4.
Occupation
Factor
There is a
list called "The National Occupations Classification” which specifies
a variety of occupations, each with its own assessment. The number of
units awarded can range between 1 and up to a maximum of 10.
The
immigration management has the right of changing the list rating.
Assessment units will be assigned when the application is received. At the
time the application paper is screened, the applicant will have the benefit of
the higher rating due to the change of list rating.
5. Arranged
Employment or Designated Occupation Factor
Maximum
of 10 units
If the
applicant’s arranged employment is graded with NOC (ETF) equal to or
greater than 6 and also holds the employment validation, the applicant
will automatically be awarded 10 units.
If the
applicant’s arranged employment, which designated by Minister in
consultation with provincial authorities, the applicant will be awarded 10
units. Designated occupations are those for which there are current
provincial labour market shortages and are specific to each individual
province.
Zero units
are awarded to an applicant whose “arranged employment” consists
essentially of a training position.
*Self-employed,
entrepreneur, and investors are not assessed in this area.
6. Demographic
Factor
The
assessment unit ranges between a minimum of 1 up to a maximum of 10. These
points may be adjusted upward or downward in order to increase or decrease
the number of applicants who would otherwise meet the selection
requirement.
*Assessment
units will be assigned when the application is received. At the time the
application paper is screened, applicant will have the benefit of high
rating due to the change of list rating.
